The winners of the CREATE COOKING CHALLENGE: MY FAMILY’S RECIPE will be determined by these judges who will screen video auditions demonstrating each entrant’s preparation of their recipe, an overview of the recipe’s origins, the full recipe, and an image of the final dish. The judging panel will judge submissions based on an entrant’s demonstrated knowledge, ability to present ideas succinctly, overall telegenic appeal, uniqueness, and production values. In addition to winning cash prizes and video production equipment, the grand prize winner will produce their own 10-part video series for Entrants can range from professional chefs to home cooks, and their two-minute video submissions must feature their family’s favorite traditional dishes or special regional cuisine.

About the judges:
Kevin Belton calls himself a “gumbo” of French, Native American, and African ancestry. Self-taught chef, he started cooking under the watchful eyes of his mother and grandmother in their chic neighborhood New Orleans residence. Author of numerous cookbooks and host of four public television series, Belton has spent 30 years teaching the basics of Louisiana cooking. He is the host of several public television series, including the recent Kevin Belton’s kitchen Louisiana on Create TV.

Pati Jinitch was born and raised in Mexico City. She is the host of the multi-award-winning James Beard Award-winning public television series Pati’s Mexican table, resident chef at the Mexican Cultural Institute of washington d.c. and one New York Times best-selling cookbook author. Jinich went from political analyst to chef, exploring and sharing from Mexico cooking his life’s work. She is recognized by the Council of the Americas as one of the “Top 5 Border Ambassadors” for her work bringing the United States and Mexico Closer to each other.

Diane Kochilas has been one of the world’s leading experts in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine for over 25 years. She brings a combination of Blue-Zone wellness from the Greek island of Ikaria and New York City mind to everything she does. She is also an award-winning author of more than 18 cookbooks, organizes annual culinary excursions and walking tours of Greeceand offers popular cooking classes across the United States. She is an animator, creator and co-producer of My Greek table.

Nick Stellino has been the head of public television for nearly 30 years. His journey as a television host and cookbook author began in his native country Italy where he comes from a family of accomplished cooks. He always dreamed of coming to America and did so when he was 17. In the late 1980s, Stellino was a successful stockbroker, but he missed his passion for cooking. He shifted gears and continued to be a chef and his dream of doing a TV series. With several television series including Storytellers in the kitchen, and 12 cookbooks, he exceeded his expectations.

Martin Yan has been a public television host for over 40 years. Recognized worldwide, his goal of making Chinese cuisine easy for the cook and tasty for the guests continues to be his lifelong mission. A second-generation culinary, Yan was first inspired by his mother in the small kitchen of their Guangzhou, China family restaurant. He has hosted more than 3,500 cooking shows worldwide, is a highly respected master chef, culinary consultant and instructor, and host of Yan knows how to cook!
