Bradley Guzan made three saves and Atlanta United faced the New York Red Bulls in a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night.

A victory for Atlanta or New York would have secured their place in the playoffs. With the draw, Nashville and Philadelphia each clinched a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference and will host their first playoff games.

Atlanta (12-9-12), which extended its unbeaten streak to five games, will face last-place Cincinnati in a regular season final on Sunday. New York (13-12-8), which has never lost to Atlanta in 10 games, will face Nashville on Sunday.

New York was without head coach Gerhard Struber after his suspension due to a build-up of yellow cards. Assistant coaches Bradley Carnell and Bernd Eibler handled the game in Struber’s absence.
