FSC participates in the opening of the Fastrack season


Staten Island, New York State – Farmingdale State’s indoor track teams kicked off the 2021-22 season when the Fastrack season opens Friday at the Ocean Breeze Park Track Complex in Staten Island, NY

The men were led by Morris Johnson (Binghamton, NY) who finished second out of 31 competitors in the 60m. His time of 7.26 ranks 9th on the FSC’s all-time list. Also in the 60m, rookie Jovanny Philippe (Huntington, NY) finished 11th in 7.55.

In the 800m, sophomore Connor McKeever (North Babylon, NY) placed 16th of 32 with a time of 2: 02.99.

Freshman Jadore Foote (Uniondale, NY) finished tied for 16th (9.21) in the 60m hurdles, while runner-up Rodney Jerome (Westbury, NY) (9.22) placed 18th in the same event.

In the long jump, junior Chris Syrett (East Norwich, NY) took 14th place out of 40 competitors with a jump of 19 ’11 “.

On the women’s side, rookie Mia Harris (Manhattan, NY) was 8th in 22 in the 60m with a time of 8.91. In the mile, sophomore Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, NY) placed 12th in 5: 44.02.

Junior Emily Russell (Southhold, NY) clinched third place in high jump (1.55m / 5 ‘1 “) and took 15th place in shot put (9.93m / 32’ 7”) .

Rookie Khadia Jenkins (Farmingdale, NY) was 10th in high jump (1.50m / 4 ’11 “) and 12th in shot put (10.06m / 30′ 0.25”).

The Rams will then travel to the New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York, NY for the Invitation to the Lions Hall of the TCNJ on Saturday January 15.
