Yankees vs Astros weather updates: ALCS Game 4 won’t start on time due to rain in New York

The Astros are one win away from sweeping the Yankees and securing their spot in the 2022 World Series; however, Sunday’s deciding game will be delayed due to rain.

The league has announced that the game will not start at the scheduled time and another update will come around 7 p.m. If played, Game 4 of the ALCS will likely face rain, as there is recurring rainfall forecast in the Bronx.

This isn’t the first time the Yankees have been disrupted in the playoffs by rain. Their ALDS Series vs. Guardians had two games postponed to another day due to rain.

Houston shut out New York 5-0 on Saturday to build a 3-0 series lead, so it’s a playoff game Sunday for the Yankees. It’s the fourth time the Astros and Yankees have met in the playoffs since 2015, with Houston coming out on top in the previous three series.

Game 4 is tentatively scheduled for a 7:37 p.m. ET start time. The Yankees look to Nestor Cortes to keep the team’s World Series hopes alive, while the Astors send Lance McCullers Jr. to the bump in his second playoff start.
